Carbon Upcycling

Carbon Upcycling Technologies (CUT) specializes in converting CO2 gas emissions from point sources, such as power plants, into solid products. The company employs a proprietary, patent-pending technology that chemically absorbs CO2 emissions into exfoliated fly ash, resulting in various nanomaterials that enhance corrosion resistance in concrete infrastructure exposed to acidic environments.
CUT has also successfully applied its technology to different tailings samples, and its portfolio of CO2- derived solid nanoparticles has undergone technical validation for use in various industries, including plastics, coatings, epoxy, adhesives, concrete, lithium-ion batteries, and pharmaceuticals. The product is commercially ready, with nanoparticle production scaled from 0.5 grams per week to over 500 kg per week, and the company has generated commercial revenue through the sale of AC-100 concrete coating. Depending on the feedstock, CUT can expedite the process, with the potential to move from one month of lab testing in Canada to in-field piloting.
